The SSC CHSL 2025 exam is an important government exam in India, especially for students who have passed their 12th class and are looking for a stable and secure job in the central government. This exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), which is a government organization responsible for recruiting staff for various ministries and departments under the Government of India.
The SSC CHSL exam has two main stages, also called tiers. The first stage is Tier 1, which is an online exam. It includes multiple-choice questions from four subjects: English, Reasoning (General Intelligence), Maths (Quantitative Aptitude), and General Awareness (GK and current affairs). The total number of questions is 100, and the exam carries 200 marks in total. Candidates are given 60 minutes to complete this test, and there is negative marking for wrong answers. If you pass Tier 1, only then you are allowed to appear in Tier 2.
Tier 2 is also an online exam but is a bit more advanced. It has two parts. The first part includes questions from subjects like advanced Maths, Reasoning, English, General Knowledge, and Computer basics. It tests your knowledge in a more detailed way than Tier 1. After this, there is the second part, which is a typing test or skill test. This part is not counted in your final score, but you must pass it. For some posts, like Data Entry Operator (DEO), your typing speed is tested, and for others like Lower Division Clerk (LDC) or Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), a basic typing test is required in English or Hindi.
